The colordb window

colordb is split into boxes. Each box is dedicated to a specific tool. It has a title bar with a help button that brings the corresponding help chapter.

Some boxes can be minimized by clicking their button . When a box is minimized, it is displayed as a simple title bar and put in the bottom left corner of the window (under the Options box). Simply click its open button to get it back.

The boxes layout can be freely modified. See the Options box helpq to know more.

Selecting a color...

colordb deals with a current color: it is the one displayed in the Info box. Selecting a color is making it the current color.

There are many ways to select a color: you can look for a color using the Find box, you can pick a color on the color wheel and finally, any colored sample displayed in any box can be clicked to make its color becoming the current one:

Link buttons

Some boxes have two more buttons in their title bar: a "link" button and a "picker" .

The link button

It allows you to link or unlink (depending wether the button is checked or not) the box with the current color.

• When checked, the box synchronizes its content according to the current color. Any time it changes, the box updates.
  Example: let's say the current color is a blue. The Info box gives several information about this blue. The variations box, with its link button checked, shows blue variations. If you change the current color to a red (by clicking on red in the color wheel for example), the Infos box now displays data about this red, and the Variations box gives red variations.
• When unchecked, the box will not updates its contents anymore, even if the current color changes.
  Example: uncheck the Close colors box link button, then change the current color: the Info box updates its contents, while the Close colors box does not.

The picker button

This button is available only if the box is not linked to the current color: it allows you to updates the box contents manually.

Example: uncheck the Harmonies box link button, then change the current color. Harmonies do not update, as the box is now unlinked. Then click the Harmonies picker button: the box is updated and now shows harmonies for the new current color. Change one more time the current color: as the Harmonies box is still unlink, nothing is updated in this box.

Undo, redo, how to do

Nothing more simple: if you wand to undo the last action, simply click the "back" button of your browser !!

To redo something you have just undone, click the browser "next" button.

Note you can press the 'Esc' key of your keyboard to cancel a move while dragging a cursor in the color wheel or a slider (in the Variations box, for example).
